When you sit, with eyes c…

When you sit, with eyes closed,
forget about the mirror of self-analysis.
Look, in your mind, at a rock, and be still;
look, in your mind, at a tree, and breathe.
Analysis is not necessary for peace;
but peace is essential to self-knowing.

(Simon Williams, May 2012)

Dirt speaks thoroughly of life
just as an honest mind teams with life

you may not want to look at me in this moment
but I know you are there and I still love you

I break something open so I can eat what is inside
other than that, there are not many reasons to get inside things

if you really want to find yourself, say so
it looks like a story has made a home in this poem
